GT Tools® entered the auto glass replacement tool market with the same clear focus that our windshield repair tools have been built upon, producing innovative solutions that solve the everyday problems that the Auto Glass Industry faces. In 2011, GT Tools® produced the industry’s first cord and wire auto glass cutting system (The Stripper™) which enabling the auto glass specialist to reduce body damage to newer vehicle makes and models during the removal process.

We’ve continued to change the auto glass tool industry one tool at a time. Below is a list of industry firsts that have elevated our industry and our customers:

• In 2010, GT Tools® introduced our full line of reciprocating power auto glass cutting tools. The Caliber line of tools offers a quick release blade changing system that is incorporated into our GT.357, .45, .44, .38 Special tools. These tools use our durable blades which have been an industry standard for years.

• In 2011, GT Tools® brought to market the industry’s first synthetic auto glass cutting cord to replace the need for piano wire materials. Zipline™ synthetic cutting cord can be used multiple times without damaging the vehicle, and is less hazardous than traditional wire materials.

• In 2012, GT tools® created the KONG™. The industry’s first and only auto glass cord cutting system that can be mounted in one position on the interior of the vehicle and does not need to be moved. This system offers a dual cutting technology which cuts around the windshield in two directions simultaneously for added efficiency.

• In 2013, GT Tools® developed the Diablo™, an ergonomic reciprocating power auto glass cutting tool that uses a smooth drive system (SDS) technology for easy urethane cutting.

• In 2013, GT Tools® brought to market the industry’s strongest synthetic auto glass cutting cord. Gorilla Cord™ synthetic cutting cord can be used multiple times without damaging the vehicle and is less hazardous than traditional wire materials.

• Another industry first was created in 2016, with the introduction of GT Tools® ShortCut™ auto glass cord and wire cutting tool. Built on a stout 8 inch curved vacuum cup, the ShortCut™ offers a dual drive technology, which allows the tool to be operated using a ratchet, or high torque, low speed drill. The advancement offers the industry more flexibility during the auto glass cutting process.

• In 2017, GT Tools® changed the industry by engineering the FinalCut™ auto glass cord and wire cutting tool. The FinalCut’s™ compact design offers auto glass specialists the flexibility to cut windshields, side glass and back glass with ease.
